119: Ending May Day

Updates! I finally officially not a UCSI student anymore. I'm just waiting for the result. (and do a site visit for completing the whole Internship stuffs' sake, but that's not my part, it's the lecturer's part.)
But still, I'm still have the Japanese Music Concert to worry about. It was a bumpy road to start with.. None of us know how to organize an event, and we all learnt it the hard way. It all started from September last year. Where I finished with my grad and start planning to do something with the SMSA club. At that time, I was looking for bands to perform at the concert, and have total no idea about how it should be organized, logistic and publicity wise. But I was helped with Ling Yn the Public Relation of SMSA last time, she knows a lot of contacts and could do a lot of things. However, soon, she was occupied with her job and studies at the same time. We wanted to do the concert in March, but I was going to be in the Internship program soon, I couldn't do much. So, I let the juniors to deal with it. And then, I was informed that there's one club that wants to do a Japanese related event as well. ITSA. And I met with the ITSA advisor and we talked about how we can cooperate. And since we have almost the same goal, it's best to cooperate (since I didn't know how the process of organizing an event goes). Things get a little slower there, I hear no news about it. I only able to hear a little about the progress. I didn't know that they reselect the committee members, and they put the music students, the juniors are the top 2 position of it. Just because of the ppl from SAO, Bryan, ask them to do so. (Oh, wait, I thought we were going to do it under the umbrella of ITSA?) So, that gave the juniors, particularly, Ling Yn and Weng Sum, a lot of trouble rushing the ppl at the other faculties. The proposal was coming out late, even when we postponed the event to the end of May.
In the middle of Jan-April semester, Juan was particularly harsh on the juniors, plus the fact that another bad-tempered lecturer came in to teach, Eric Li. Ling Yn had enough of it and left UCSI for Aswara. Leaving the project alone to Weng Sum. Since the response from ITSA and the other clubs was really inactive, she decided to cancel off the big event and do the concert ourselves. And then the Bryan ask her to include Animac to do the cosplay thing, at least it will show the other clubs that they should be more active in doing events. And so, we re-group the committee again and delayed the event date again. We were doing fine until they come out with the proposal at the last week for submission. Juan, the SMSA advisor looked at the proposal and say he need to have a meeting with the committee. In the meeting, he mentioned that there's a lot of details missing in the proposal, but we can fix it in the following weeks. So, we listened to him, thinking that he knows better. Later, next week, the committee was informed that SAO won't accept our proposal anymore, consequencely, we won't be getting fund from them. And we got a big crisis. It appears that Juan and Bryan work really differently. And now we had to bear the consequences. The committee agreed to keep together to make the concert happen. We were able to do the event under the name of School of Music, not SMSA. Having lesser time to spare... And now the designers are really late with the design and now only get it to print. And we haven't get sponsors. We are doing the concert without money.. And the committee members are starting to lose faith in the project.

Disasterous.

Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

By the way, I got through the job interview from Sri Cempaka Schools. I'm still waiting for a offer letter from them. I just got a call this morning, Andrew from Cempaka (actually my boss if I confirmed to be working there) will confirm with me.
Last Sunday, I went for an audition to KL Youth Jazz Orchestra in Bentley. Still waiting for the callback.. I have no confidences that I will be able to get in. There's more capable saxophonists out there than me.
I have sent my work to a Call for works from UiTM's New Music Ensemble. No news until now.
I'm tired of waiting.. every single day.

Though, I havent been writing any music at all... Shame on me.

I need to set my goal for my life... what I want to do, what I want to archieve...
